The vibrant colours, the bride's radiant smile, and Jennifer Blair's warm, emotive images, are singing out to me of all that is merry and bright in the wedding world this Christmas season. I'm always so impressed when elegance and warmth are blended well, and Nicole and Jonathan's celebration really makes that marriage of characteristics appear seamless.
Here is my list of favourite elements from Nicole + Jonathan's wedding day that would make any fall, winter or holiday wedding feel festive and classy all at once:
- A mix of perfect greenery such as holly, ferns, berries, and leaves lend a warm seasonal touch to Nicole's chosen gerberas and the local seasonal foliage.
-Nicole's dress exudes grandeur and style with it's seductive cut and fabulous ruffled skirt, and her earrings add a solid dose of sparkle--because every holiday party needs a little shimmer.
-The location offers elements of formality in a relaxed, countryside location. With it's hedge-lined aisle (something I've never seen before, but love for it's aesthetic contribution -- it's also a great way to prevent guests from stepping into the path) and columned garden pavilion which made a unique focal point for the wedding ceremony, Maria's Vineyard hits the sweet spot between country and classy.
-The cowboy boots...not that they have much to do with the holidays, but if you're a bride considering a winter wedding and are thinking about how to keep you and your bridesmaids' feet warm, boots in various styles could make a poignant fashion statement while keeping toes warm and dry.
One thing I should note is that this wedding photographed by Jennifer Blair took place in Alabama. While Vale + Vine is committed to getting its start through featuring predominately Canadian content and/or talent, I also recognize that Canadian brides and vendors are influenced by images and ideas from beyond our borders and want to open up the dialogue that comes with sharing cultural and location-based inspiration. I hope you'll enjoy where that vision takes us!
