Fine Art Engagement Glamour in the Dunes

The best recipes for a stunning engagement session always include a bit of adventure (and a fabulous fine-art photographer, we think). So when tales of a road trip accompanied this engagement session sent to us by Vancouver-based film photographer Jenzel Velo, we knew this would be one to share. From the editorial vibes to the sense of being alone in the desert, we couldn’t keep our eyes off of these images.

From the photographer: “Janelle and Jermi waited 13 years for this moment, so it’s no surprise that as a couple, every decision leading up to their big day is with intention - including the location of their engagement shoot! Ironically, we spent 13 hours on the road before finally arriving in Florence, Oregon - or was it the Sahara Dessert? Dubai? Mars? The moon? We couldn’t tell! It truly felt like we were transported to another dimension or planet as our feet kissed our soft footprints into the pillows of sand that continued as far as the eye can see. We were the only people there and for hours, felt like we were playing in a giant, boundless sandbox. This is freedom. THIS is love! This location was carefully picked as it beautifully captured the essence of marriage and what it takes to make it work: quietude, everything brought to the light, and forgiving warmth, no matter the direction the wind wants to push you.”
