Something Blue | Nautical Wedding Inspiration

Though Canada's heartland may be landlocked, it's expansive coastal regions lure many couples to its dramatic, rocky shorelines to tie the knot.  This shoot, styled and photographed in Vancouver, British Columbia by Simply Rose Photography, offers a nautical take on a look for bridesmaids that incorporates distinctive details that more than fulfill the tradition of 'something blue' on one's wedding day.  From the azure hand-lettered message in a bottle from the bride to her bridesmaid, to the inky blue Amsale gown fluttering in the ocean breeze, to the multi-faceted Labradorite jewelry mined in Canada's far northeast, each oceanic detail pays homage to the sea.  And to tie it all together, the model reminds me of one of those incredible mermaids sculpted into the bows of old sailing ships, gleaming bright as the sun touches the watery  horizon beyond.  For more dramatic coastal inspiration on Vale + Vine, check out this ethereal coast shoot by When He Found Her, as well as this misty Pacific coast elopement by Caileigh Kyle Photography.
