Blue + Gold Heirloom Wedding Inspiration

Rich with heirloom wedding inspiration courtesy of Maru Photography and Celsia Floral, this luxe outdoor styled session evokes the sumptuous beauty of a bygone era--specifically that of the 19th century Brontë sisters, whose words are woven throughout the design.  Through the use of voluptuous antique furniture, old-world calligraphy...

Heirloom Bridal Preparations

A few months ago Vale + Vine published a gorgeous shoot set in the North Carolina mountains featuring highlights from the 2014 Team Flower Workshop.  Sometimes not all of the images submitted for publication make it to the final layout however,  so today I wanted to give you a glimpse of some of the interior bridal prep images as well as more shots of the paper goods...

Versatile Bridal Style among Ruins

I'm always impressed when artists can come together and create a sense of drama without falling back on too many ostentatious elements.  A short-sleeved sweater paired with a cascading veil, a humble pew in the cathedral of a forest, a whippet bedecked with pearls; all pleasant surprises, elegantly styled with restraint and poise.  And, I'm honoured to say, with Vale + Vine specifically in mind as an ideal publisher for this work....

North Carolina Private Estate Inspiration

This styled shoot photographed by fellow Canadian Marcie Meredith (now a resident of North Carolina) has all the sophistication of a private estate blended with the charm of the refined countryside.  The look?  A perfect picture of contrasting characteristics brought together in a seamless fashion; light and dark, ephemeral and enduring, feminine and masculine qualities are all represented with elegance throughout the architecture, decor, landscape, attire, and details. Natural Light Portraits from Ellebay Bridal

These naturally lit bridal portraits were photographed at Ellebay Bridal in New Westminster, and outdoors in Vancouver, BC by Lily Ann Photography, and highlight such pretty details by dress designer Merly Bayona that I couldn't resist showcasing them on Vale + Vine.  This gown would be perfect for both formal or more relaxed weddings, and works well both indoors and outdoors.  The creamy tones give the dress an heirloom feel, but the gown's detailing and cut are distinctly on-trend.  See more on Vale + Vine's Instagram feed throughout the day!
