North Carolina Private Estate Inspiration

This styled shoot photographed by fellow Canadian Marcie Meredith (now a resident of North Carolina) has all the sophistication of a private estate blended with the charm of the refined countryside.  The look?  A perfect picture of contrasting characteristics brought together in a seamless fashion; light and dark, ephemeral and enduring, feminine and masculine qualities are all represented with elegance throughout the architecture, decor, landscape, attire, and details. Such a harmonious combination is an ideal representation of marriage and the union of two people who are more beautiful because their contrasts, though still visible, have blended to make a more exquisite whole.

Styled Shoot in South Carolina Ruins

Ruins are a favourite of mine, because they usually incorporate natural overgrowth, providing a space that brings nature and architecture together in aesthetically appealing harmony.  Grand or ancient ruins however, are not as easily found in Canada as they are in other parts of the world.  That being said, this styled session photographed in the ruins of an old church in South Carolina is a great example of the kind of ruins one might find in various places across Canada...albeit with very different flora (not so much Spanish moss found in the Canadian landscape).  In fact, Vale + Vine featured a French-inspired wedding that took place at Trappist Monastery ruins in Manitoba....

The vibrant colours, the bride's radiant smile, and Jennifer Blair's warm, emotive images, are singing  out to me of all that is merry and bright in the wedding world this Christmas season.  I'm always so impressed when elegance and warmth are blended well, and Nicole and Jonathan's celebration really makes that marriage of characteristics appear seamless.
