Wildflower Meadow Anniversary Session

I think it's fantastic that anniversary sessions are becoming more sought after these days.  Often once a couple has children, it's rare to see photos of just the two of them alone, so every time I shoot a family session, I always make sure to get a few shots of the parents sans kiddos.  They often tell me that the last time they had photos of the two of them together was on their wedding day.  Wow!  That being said, whether a couple has children or not, it's important to commemorate anniversaries and celebrate the commitment that each day of marriage requires....

Meadow Inspiration for the Modern Bride

If you've ever wondered what a modern day interpretation of Anne of Avonlea might look like, this styled collaborative shoot by Rebecca Yale Photography and Shellie Pomeroy of Silk + Willow is it (in my mind at least).  Set in New Paltz, New York, amidst meadows of clover and peaceful brooks, I could just imagine a grown up Anne Shirley spending an easy afternoon foraging for blooms and daydreaming in the Atlantic countryside, reciting The Lady of Shalott by the waters' edge, and  entertaining the likes of her kindred spirit, Diana, perpetual tease/eventual beau Gilbert Blythe, Matthew + Marilla, and Miss Stacy.  Raspberry cordial would, of course, be on the menu....

Engagement in a Meadow of Wildflowers

Couples wherein each partner is perfectly natural with one another are just so easy to spot, especially when there's a photographer in the equation--their unconscious smiles aren't the least bit contrived and their displays of unbridled affection are anything but posed.    Michelle and Jon are one such couple and I love how effortlessly their comfort with, and love for ,one another is expressed in this engagement session by Heidi Lau Photography.  Unaffected, relaxed, and obviously in love, Jon and Michelle make me grin as I scroll through each frame.  It's a feel-good shoot with roots of love that run deep and I'm so honoured that to be given a glimpse into Michelle + Jon's beautifully celebrated love.
